hi all
after having no success finding a left wing for my jet jts250s supersaw I decided to make one. I have measured it all up including the arbour cover under the sliding table and can fit a 3/4" mitre track over the top wherever I like.

I have recently picked up a dakota tenon jig which seems to be great quality, especially when it was on offer, + an extra 10% off and free delivery!!

So as I am making the left wing I can decide where to locate the mitre track. Is there a standard distance that a lot of cabinet saws have the mitre track away from the left side of the blade?

I plan on making a new crosscut sled for this saw. I see no issue running it in the mitre slots if they are different distances away from the blade, but anyone know different?

Many thnaks!

About 150mm (centre of slot) away from the blade should suit Mick. It's not vital to be exact, just so that your tenoning jig clears the blade when the jig is adjusted fully to the right. Once you've created a nice parallel slot base your sled and anything else such as other types of sled etc around the slot and the factory slot for those jigs that use both. You can also use the left edge of the new table too as a guide providing it's also parallel to the blade which is handy for a cut off sled, for example, that can handle wide pieces of stock that need to be started off the table.
