I think if he had put in a round blank it would be quite a good copying system.
 
That is one of the scariest things I've seen in a long time. my buttocks would be twitching like a rabbits nose for the entire time i'd be using it. but I like his floating router system.

The scarier one is the guy who does a similar thing with a circular saw and a drill press. :grin::lol:
 
Having never turned or really watched turning before, please enlighten me as to what the H&S issues are..... Other than starting with a blank that is a lot closer to round?

wow... I have seen routers used on lathes before, but never like that lol. Though now, worryingly I want to try it, and I'm not even a turner lol
 
A friend of mine bought a small lathe and a router and tried this free hand!Result was a big bang,router bit snapped and spindle blank flew off the lathe.Frightened the life out of him but could have caused him much mischief.He went off turning for some reason.
