Am I being unrealistic in trying to find a cheap (very) cordless saw that I can carry to timber supplier to cut up ply to fit in my car. I'm not too worried whether it's jig or circular. Am I likely to find something for less then £50 and if so wil it be man enough to cut an 8x4 sheet of 12mm ply into quarters?

Andy

edit

just found a SIP 01507 Cordless circular saw on www.toolstation.com for 49.74 inc delivery and with 2 battery packs.

Don't suppose anyone has one & could pass comment?

I bought a PPoo one from B&Q, reduced to about £30, for just that kind of thing. It would do a couple of sheets before the battery dies.

I don't use it much, its simpler just to chuck the full sheets up on the roof bars.

Jake,
I shall call into to B&Q on the way home for a look see.

Alas roofbars would cost me a whole lot more than £30
