Can anyone tell if inkjet printer ink is child safe?
Had a go at a couple of jigsaws from saw4fun patterns, leaving picture on for colour, sealed it with a rustoleum finish, just wondered if that is necessary as in one of them the picture went a bit funny looking in patches. Stuck it on with thin coat of wood glue left until tacky before applying pic. They look really nice, but when I offered one as a gift to a friend for her grandchildren, you would have thought I offered her a poison tipped scalpel blade :( - no ce mark...
did try one on matte photo paper but haven't sprayed it and not sure if it would be suitable for small children, though I probably won't make any more :(

I don’t know if printer ink is child safe or not, but I use Chestnut Acrylic Lacquer to seal some of my projects, this is certified child safe to EN71 part 3.

Available from Axminster Tools, stock number 118014.

I wonder how I ever survived childhood, what with lead toys etc, maybe we were just tougher. I think that most children to day, will grow up with a very low immune system.

Take care.
