Will someone please show me how to change my password? For some unknown reason I have been locked out. Stupidly I never made a note of my password when I joined so I asked fro a replacement one, which I have received. It consists of loads of letters and figures so I want to change it to something more simple.

I have searched high and low to find an entry to make the change but cant see it for the life of me, help please??? :?:

It's not obvious!

First, make sure you are logged in. Then choose "User Control Panel" from "User Tools" (on the right hand side, in the blue stripe).

Then, in the control panel, look on the left hand side menu and click on "Profile" under "options".

Look again at "profile" and it will have expanded to show four sub-headings. The last one of these is "Edit account settings" which is where you need to be!

Note you need to enter your existing (forum generated?) password as well as your required password.

If you're having problems logging in, it might be the way you're using cookies in your browser.

I often block cookies generally, and then forget to turn them back on for UK Workshop before I try to log in. I don't have enough detailed control of cookies on my Android tablet, and often the forum system will refuse my (correct) password, because it's reading old cookies that should have been overwritten, but weren't because I started the session with the wrong settings in the browser.

If you're still getting erratic logins try clearing all the cookies from "...ukworkshop.co.uk" in your browser, making sure it will accept new cookies from there, and starting again.

It may be irrelevant, but I wonder...

A BIG Thank You to one and all for your help. I got there in the end. I now have an intelligible password and all is well.

Thanks again,

RonB :D
