Hi.
Apologies if this is in the wrong forum - my first posted here.
Last week I picked up a very old startrite table saw.
There is no model number on it so wondering if anybody on this forum might be able to help me identify it.
I've posted a few pictures. There is a serial number on it - C277. It makes me think this must be one of the earliest table saws, given there is no model number ie perhaps it was when there was only table saw made by startrite? That and the fact it's a tilting table, rather than tilting arbor, which I think came later?
I'm interested to know the age of the machine. It's clearly old, and am really impressed that the motor runs clean and well, and the tilt and raise mechanism are both good and smooth.
Also interested to know if I can hold of a mitre gauge that will fit a half inch channel, and if I can fit a fence to the half inch square bar ( both mitre and fence are missing, as is the blade guard, if ever there was one).
This is clearly an old grandfather of a saw, still running and working. I'd be delighted if anyone out there can help identify it, date it, and advise on replacements mitre gauge/fence.
Many thanks
Dan
