Im off to Peterburough (Ontario) in a couple of weeks and have been allowed a day or two to go shopping. Anyone know of any places worth visiting whilst im there?

Looking to pick up a couple of planes, some diamond stones, router bits etc.

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks Dom

Cant find much on toolshops in Canada. Do you know if they have any large chainstores?

Your best bet is the Toronto East Lee Valley store in Scarborough. It is however about 1hr and 30 from Peterborough outside rush hour (otherwise add an hour at least!)

This will definitely be your best bet for anything you can easily bring home although obviously it will all be Lee Valley stock! I always think the router bits esp carbide ones are a good buy and the planes need no intro either

The other possibility is Busy Bee: http://busybeetools.ca/cgi-bin/homepage which is a general tool store chain more like a small APTC really - some good things, others not so much!

Other places: http://www.allinonewood.com/?page=shop/location and General http://www.general.ca/pagetitre/ang/dist_ont.html# although this will be mainly heavy stuff (but there is a distributor in Peterborough). Also Atlas machinery: http://www.atlas-machinery.com/

Good luck and enjoy

Cheers
