Is there anything I can use to buff without a mop? The mop I bought (cheap) isn't all that great, I've used it pretty heavily for about 2 weeks and it is falling apart now and I've got some things I'd like to buff.

Is there anything I can use on a piece while it is still on my lathe?

Also where would you suggest to buy some quality mops? I need a few since I don't want to mix compounds on the same wheel.

Thanks!

Turners retreat stock a couple of different buffing kits. The chestnut one seems to be very well regarded on here.

Hi

I use muslin cloth - held between thumb and fingers, (not wrapped around), and presented to the work below the centre line. In the unlikely event of a snag it just gets plucked from your grasp.

Hi Dino

I'm lucky enough to get it free but I'm sure car accessory shops sell it by the roll in the polishing section, it's cheap and goes a long way. Butchers also use it for wrapping meat, so if by chance you have a friendly butcher
