Anyone in the market for a budget planer?
I picked up a brand new Tonino Lamborghini 82mm planer a couple of years ago for £32 wile my Makita was out of action. About the only hope I ever have of owning a Lamborghini  although I actually have two now including my plunge router
Anyway, I'm extremely impressed with it. It's light and comfortable. Powerful enough for light trade use and the dust extraction is quite impressive (even better with a vacuum cleaner attached). There's virtually no kick back despite there being no soft start.
Only two minor flaws:
1. The depth adjuster isn't quite perfect. However, I think the indicator collar may have been set in the wrong position so it's an easy fix, just never gotten around to it as I marked the correct depths on with a marker pen.
2. The supplied blades while adequate aren't brilliantly sharp. A pair of Bosch TCT blades for £8 has transformed this machine.
All in all, this now gets more use than my Makita because it's so much lighter, I tend now only to use the Makita on hardwoods and this on softwoods.
