I have acquired this piece of spalted birch ... or I think it's birch -
It really is amazing, but I need to fill a few holes. I want to use bronze powder, but I'm not having much joy. If I mix it with epoxy, it had just as well be a brown filler, and if I use CA, it's drying before I can get it to the holes. Any suggestions? Any source of a slower setting CA that doesn't involve ebay as swmbo's had a run in with paypal and refuses to link a card.

How much powder are you mixing with the epoxy as with brass powder I know that if you don't use enough the mix will end up turning green maybe the same is happening with the bronze powder

Try putting the powder in the holes and then apply the ca to it, use thin it will wick into it and set.

You may be better off with metallic pigment powders. Can't think what they call them but there's loads on e**y, sorry!

Dry powder in stages with thin CA wicked in as said above, if the fissures are deep you can use something like coffee grounds to fill the bulk and just your highlight powder for the last layer or two.

Don't be tempted to fill too large a bulk at one time, it can generate considerable heat.
