Hi
I have been using a brad nailer, with 18G tacwise brads.
The brads end up flush with the top surface, but are still visible. What do people use to get the head below the surface so that the hole can be filled

There's usually a knob or dial somewhere around the trigger that you regulate the depth with.

Hi, it has a regulator, which i have set on max and it only just comes flush, typically go through ply, but doesn't change irrespective of thickness or brad legth

That's odd. How about the air regulator? Maybe it doesn't supply enough pressure?

Adjusting the regulator generally refers to the compressor (most should operate around 70 - 90 psi to drive the nailer). There should also be an adjuster wheel on the nailer also to choose final position of finished nail.

Hi so i screwed up to use a pun!
Obviously for non visible work it doesnt matter that it is only flush. But if i am trying to get the brad on a visible face below the surface, do i punch it home and fill, or do i use a lost head pin, suggestions welcome, other than dont buy cheap brad gun from screwfix :)

Maybe there's a brad (or piece of it) lodged in the pathway of the hammer, preventing it to bottom out?

Punch and hammer. You may not actually drive the pin down but it'll still be below the surface. You could try headless but suspect little difference.

I'm currently upgrading to an air powered gun for this exact reason. My Titan electric gun doesn't sink below the surface.
