A friend told me her husband had cut down a maple/plane type tree she planted 50 years ago. I called in this evening and asked for a few bits to put by to dry, about 30cm diameter.
The husband told me that 25 years ago he cut down a box tree and had burned all but 3 pieces when he was told it was precious.
So I came home with his last 2 pieces of box. About 90cm long, quite pippy and the larger is 12 to 13cm diameter.
I have no idea what I might do with it. I'm not into turning.

You could always donate it to someone who does do turning 😀

A lovely wood to use - creamy and beautifully easy to finish

What do you enjoy making?

To be honest it has never really been a question of "enjoy making", more a question of if I don't make it how am I going to pay for it, or I can make it far better than the company who is going to charge me over the odds to make it.
