Acacia bowl 6" wide 4" tall with textured band dyed and metallic gold sparingly rubbed over to give that aged look. The matching spoon is the first I've ever made! Its also Acacia with the same decorative treatment. More details on my blog, including why I don't have the spoon any more!!.....

Comments and critiques welcomed.

johnny, is it just 3 yrs since you started spinning bits of wood?

The standard of this and recent pieces shows a an understanding of the media in a depth that many can only aspire to.

you haven't been storing it since 1973 have you johnny?

Thanks Nev. I've not had it personally but the way the bloke from the local timber yard drives his truck I wouldn't be surprised...... Should I call it the bowl of Tenere......

Thanks Colin, got to admit this Acacia finishes very well and easily too 8)

Three years? A lifetime to me. Somehow I doubt the end of my first three years will show such a body of work as yours but I am very trying.

I like this one, but then decorated bowls are my thing.

Stunning - I love the textured band round it - My trouble is when I do any texturing I always want to get the blowtorch out!

Very nice Johnny.

The gentle inward slope of the rim adds so much.
