I recently read a post by Dereck Cohen in the hand tools section where he suggested using blue masking tape for the transfer of dovetail positions. Basically having cut the pins you put blue tape on the end grain and cut with a knife during transfer, then you peel away the tape in the waste. I tried this yesterday and it's fantastic. It makes the cut lines completely clear to my failing eyes, shows which side of the line to cut, gives a slight step for the saw to go next to and takes no extra time, I highly recommend it. Thanks Dereck
