Blackboard Paint vs. Matt Black Paint

Is there any actual difference between blackboard paint and just normal matt black paint? I've already got plenty of matt black paint , so I don't want to fork out on a tin of blackboard paint and find I just have another tin of black paint....

Blackboard paint is rubbery and takes chalk marks and rubbing out a lot better. But matt black emulsion will do in the short term.

I think blackboard paint is very slightly abrasive, so chalk doesn't just slide over it.
