My 45-year-old B&D grinder was playing up today, losing power intermittently

One of the brushes seemed to be sparking excessively so I whipped off the cover to have a look, and although that brush was worn a lot more than the other it was not the immediate problem.

A wire from the on off switch had burned itself almost through and then completed the job after I cleaned the brushes and re assembled.

That was a quite east fix, and it's working perfectly now, but looking in the tea leaves this evening I reckon a set of brushes are in my future.

They are around 4mm by 4mm with no wires attached, just a block of carbon, or whatever it is.

All I can see online is 6mm by 6mm from the Netherlands for almost £30 including postage, so that's a nonstarter.

I could buy some and cut them down, but I'd rather get ones that fit.

Suggestions please?
