Just finished making this big clock for our new conservatory. 18" diameter, 1" thick.
Started with a piece of 12mm MDF and cut a 18" circle from it, then made each piece to fit until I had this...
This had to 'go with the decor' in the conservatory so it was washed with paint and I had this...
Tidied up the edge with the bandsaw and then the sander.
I spent a while working out the best way to do the numbers. I wanted a rustic look so I opted for nails, glued onto the faced as roman numerals, laid them out to see how they'd look...
I then roughed up the paint work, glued the nails in place...
Fitted the mechanism, roughed the hands up a bit and I had this...
