I've been slowly renovating a house and I finally decided that the house is in good enough condition to allow guest to stay over... Slight problem only One bed in the house and no money to buy one for the 2nd bedroom. :?

but I do have several of these 100year old 9 by 3's recovered when a replaced the floor due to rot. And a load on oak of cuts from a recent kitchen worktop build.

My Catholic up bringing must of influenced the design. the foot and head boards are very church pew like.

Still need to resolve the tops of the legs... I don't have any money to buy a bed but might be able to scrape some money to buy a lathe to turn some finials :D

Build took just over 2 weeks of weekends and evenings
Just hope my parents appreciate the effort.

Very nice and a good use of reclaimed materials. I was in a similar position earlier on in the year but I got some very cheap CLS and built a bed base from that.
