Bead Turning Tool

I'm fairly new to woodturning, and novice

I've just purchased a HSS Crown Bead Turning tool 6mm, has anyone else used this tool. After turning four beads the metal shaft of the tool became quite hot, something that doesn't happen with other tools, is this normal. Also what is the easiest way to sharpen.

Is this the animal:-

If so just sharpen it on a standard white wheel bench grinder.

See this link from the help sticky for a suitable grinder rest and angle guide.

If it's this animal then just grind the sloping face as you would a parting tool.

If it's getting excessively hot then it is not sharp enough and/or you are applying too much bevel pressure.
