Hi all. Just wanted to share a tail of my recent second hand bandsaw.
It began with a bit of a whim purchase on the famous auction site. It was a kity 612 bandsaw for sale by a non woodworker. She wasn't in the best of health, covered in sawdust and cobwebs that looked 10 years old +
I arrived home, unloaded into the garage and stood back to check out things.
Blade was dull and rusty, and table and guides all totally out of alignment
I trawled the internet and indeed this forum for any info on the saw but not much about
Watched a few you tube videos on set up etc then set to work on striping down
I spoke to the excellent guy at tuff saws (thanks to all the recommendations on here) and 3 blades arrived a few days later.
Finished setting it up this evening paying particular attention to the blade location on the wheel and the guide set up as per the YouTube vids
Did a few test cuts and WOW is was blown away on how good it was
The cut was straight with no wander just as it should be, no need to compensate
Can't wait now to put it to some good use
Thanks to all who recommended tuff saws as I do think the blade has played a massive part
Steve
