Who claimed the blade guides kept the blade on the wheels and also gave a straight cut? I thought we all knew the guides were there just to stop the blade wandering too far because they are not in contact with the the blade when it is running, If your band saw is set up correctly, blade is sharp enough and the timber if fed at a correct rate then the guides do not contact the blade unless you are doing curves, the guides are there just for security, or so I thought.
