Hi All
I intend to buy a bandsaw for box making, one that will do sharp/ tight turns. I noticed the man demonstrating "Carter Guides" I think on Utube so want to have a go .Any advice would be appreciated as to which saw to look for, is it feasible to go as small as a 1/16 th. band ? I think he was using a jet , but which model was it.
Thanks
Richard

The tighter turns are done by small blades and the Carter Stabilizer allows more flexibility of blades between 1/4" and 1/16".

The Carter Stabilizer fit a lot of bandsaws, but mainly non European makes. Some Stabilizers are being adapted for these now, but most bandsaws will be able to handle a 1/4" blade without any addditional help.

I havent tried the 1/16", but the 1/8" works well.

Thanks for the reply,
I think that 1/16 is asking a bit much, I have been more used to 3 to 5 " ones. However will take my time in my search for a good saw. Got a lot of other stuff to get rid of first.

Bandsaw make is down to personal choice but depth of cut will determine what you can make on it. I suspect you'll need a minimum of 6" - 8" depth of cut. Think about other stuff you may want to make with it, you may decide something bigger would be useful if you have the space/budget.
