Axminster have sent me (and probably everyone else on here) their listed the top 10 tools for a workshop

1 Palm Router
2 planer
3 Extractor
4 Mitre Saw
5 Router
6 Random Orbital Sander
7 Plunge Saw
8 Multi tool
9 Jigsaw
10 Combi Drill

Anyone else thing they are nuts!

For me a Drill is probably the first power tool I bought and couldn't live without. Planer at 2 ahead of Jigsaw and Router? Surely a planer isn't the second tool that everyone buys?

What a do you his think?

My gut feel is that Axminster have a load of palm routers to flog!

With the exception of the combi drill (which I rarely use) and a hand mitre saw, I don't have any of those

Palm router is one of my newest tools, I see it as luxury which I have done without for a long long time and could continue to do so. I got it specifically to use the mounting collar to attach a router to certain fixtures.

Well call me cynical but it looks to me more likely the items that Axminster are over stocked with and they are just trying to increase sales

No that's Rutlands where you have to buy a pencil to take your £99 purchase over the £100, to get free delivery and £5 off!

Have to say, I used my cheapy jigsaw for the first time in a long while the other day and it was just plain awful :( I wish I had made the few cuts by hand
