Axe and Hields side rebate

Picked this up for £2, it needed a quick clean and sharpen and now it works nicely, Not bad for 185 years old.

I've said it before but it's still true - old wooden planes can be incredibly good value and a pleasure to own and use. You've proved it yet again!

Very nice, £2, what a bargain!

Seen a few wooden planes, never heard of Axe & Hields, presumably an off-shoot / take-over from the maker Hields.

Short lived partnership 1831-1832!

I think I should try to avoid side rebates, I have a pair of wooden ones (plus this one) a Record 3502 and a Preston.
