Atkin & sons saw

[old workshop]

Hi,
I am looking for info on this 14" Back saw.
It is Atkin & sons, Brass back and the etch
reads Cast Steel, Sheffield Works, London Strand,
Warranted. Has anyone got any info on this saw?

That was from the days when we were great britain, the workmanship in just that handle is really amazing when you think we just get a plastic moulding now. Sheffield was really at the centre of saws, could Atkin & sons be linked to Atkinsons which became Atkinson Walkers ?
