Have you ever done one of those jobs where you think you have got it all covered, you've measured up checked the size of the doorway to make sure you can get it in, checked colours, handles, appliances all listed and checked.
So what could go wrong? lets see if you can tell me whats wrong with this kitchen that I recently made and fitted.

My guess: The customer wanted the the top drawers light and the bottom drawers dark?

I love the curved cabinets, particularly the tall one but the worktop is a bit of an odd choice.

No way, how come all the electrics are at the correct height, the gas must have been in place as well as the plumbing, waste etc.

Well it goes like this, I made this kitchen to the clients drawings etc. about year ago maybe a bit more but regrettably he had to sell the house and the people who bought it don't like the kitchen in the room that it's in so asked me if I could move it.
The new room is in fact the original kitchen before I started (are you still following) the new owner didn't really like the dark rosewood and asked me to paint it but I pleaded with them to see what it looks like in the new space first, as the new room is much lighter having more windows any way they seem to be happy with it now.

I'll post some more photos of the move tomorrow.

I'm not quite with you here...

So: you built original kitchen in the space the original client wanted? Ok, get that.
The original client had to sell and the new owners arrived and said- "the other room would make a better kitchen, let's get your man 'round and he'll move it for us" That correct?
So you rip (very gently) out the existing kitchen and stick in the new room? That correct?
The new room was originally designated the kitchen but the old owners wanted it in another room?
The new owners did not like the dark wood bits and wanted you to paint them? Ok...
and you said "give it a chance, plenty more light, you'll like the dark colours" and you were right, the extra light makes a difference and all's well that ends well.

So everybody is now happy?

Kitchen looks like a great job BTW.

That must really hurt - when you have spent weeks getting a really first class job done, to have to cut into the bits that fitted just right and destroy what you achieved before. I guess it goes with the territory and that people who can afford to pay for good work can afford to make wacky decisions, but I really hope they don't regret their decision and change their minds again!

Did the kitchen even get used in the room where you first built it?

I doubt it hurts, rather than one kitchen build invoice, now's there's two. Sounds good to me.
And if they do change their mind...happy days.
