There are many wood workers out there that are struggling, as I have for a few years. When it comes to buying machinery for the workshop we often have to resort to buying something made in China and through experience they often let us down and don't work as well as they should, when we look at something we need a decision has to be made, shall I get the one costing £150 or hang on and save more of my hard earned money and get the one costing twice as much. Also because we lack everything we need we have to improvise and I hate doing this because its second best and can also be dangerous. If you are like me then you will want to achieve a high standard of workmanship, something to be proud of but if you are lacking certain equipment it can become very difficult.

Very often when in the workshop I have often said to myself, if only I had this, or I had that. Well, a couple of weeks ago I had a windfall and all my dreams came true. I was able to buy all the equipment I had been lacking. I did not buy the most expensive but I bought the best equipment for the work that I do. Its a great feeling. I would add that I don't solely rely on machines and power tools when working with wood, there is a lot of work involved using hand tools and this is the best bit for me personally. When I look at something I have made now I tell myself that i could not have possibly made it any better.
