Hi all,

I am considering a replacement pillar drill and looking at floor mounted types.

I figure I prefer 500w + as the bench model I have (350w) just is a waste of time as it will seize the drill in spruce (even with a new bit).

The cheap bearings are wobbly and so I think the bits seize with the wobblying.

So now I consider buying something decent - up to 16mm.

I want to drill wood of course and metal.

Max budget approx. £250

Any recommendations?

Hope the above link works for you. However, its a Sealey Premier and its on ebay in pillar drills.
i have this model without variable speed and cannot fault it, a super drill that will handle anything. Its very quiet and built like a tank. Highly recommended . I was surprised by the weight and size but once installed and fitted with a homemade table and fence it has proved to be invaluable in the workshop.
