Anyone on here know much about 3D printing?

I've downloaded and modified an STL file. How do I check whether it will print correctly?

You haven't mentioned what printer or software stack you plan to use. Personally I find the print preview in Repetier-Host very useful.

You could also try submitting the file to a 3D printing firm and see if they'll accept it. i.Materilise is a good one. What did you use to make the modifications?
