Hi guys,

Ive got a second hand cctv camera that i want to use. Its a high voltage model apparently, and says on the body that it's 230v, 50hz, 4w.

There is a small length of wire coming out of it (Live, Positive, Neutral).

Can I wire a plug on and run it on mains, or do I need some kind of PSU.?

Thanks.

Hi

That is designed to run on UK mains supply - make sure you use water / environment proof connections if it is being used outside.

Regards Mick

Also if it is going to be used outside, ensure the supply is via a RCD breaker, if your supply is not through a RCD, you can obtain one of the plug in types, as used for portable power tools. Available at all DIY or electrical stores.
Also fit a 3amp fuse in your plug top, or if you can obtain one, a 2amp.

Take care.
