I believe there are 3 main options

1. wrap in newspaper, put in a cardboard box with dry sawdust for a few weeks then return and finish
2. various combination's of microwave power for 'instant' drying
3. let it dry as is and keep fingers crossed it doesn't split. remount to finish only, s it will distort.

don't' forget to turn the other bit straight away - without care it will be split by tomorrow in this weather.

a bit dark if the other bits in the shed but if you can get to it wrap it in a plastic bag and put it outside.
it will keep it from splitting until tomorrow

I've not got a lot of experience but have had a bit of success puttting wet stuff in a plastic bag [like mike s said about the log] then taking it out every other day to let a bit of condensation out, untill it's dry enough.
