My new apprentice has four legs and insists on being at my side when ever possible. He loves coming into the workshop and on the odd occasion I have him in there and need to do something noisy he isn’t bothered by any of the noise. However, I would like to have him with me at all times and that’s going to require some form of ear defenders. I’ve seen Mut Muffs which have very mixed reviews. Anyone got any suggestions for a Minture Shnauser ear defender solution?

Would be keep them on? Mine would pull them off in seconds...

Might be worth testing by putting normal headphones or wrapping his ears with a cloth before spending money...

I initially googled dog ear defenders and thought the site was something I might not want in my history!!!
The price is outrageous more that a top quality pair for me.

I’ve wondered about the foam push in your ear type. He’s so obliging he’s let me put them in. I’m concerned though that I might be doing more harm than good.

I have three dogs, at least one of which would love to be in the workshop with me. I won't allow it, though.
Aside from the awful noise of any power tools, there's a ton of splinters, wood chips and hogged off chunks they could wreck their paws on. And if that isn't bad enough, there'll be little piles of sawdust everywhere that could stuff up their delicate noses and sinuses and things.

Do you carry your dog around in your handbag? Just kidding. :)

I let mine in when I know I'm just going to be using hand tools - which is happening a lot more lately. I have a bed in there, and she just sits in there. There is the odd bit of curious sniffing, but I keep things fairly tidy, so she hasn't got into any trouble so far...

My dog, (a Springer) is banned from the workshop, he comes in picks up the first piece of wood then goes onto the lawn and chews it to pieces. Never saw him do it the first time, only when I came out of the shop and saw the mess did I know he'd done it.

I don't have a handbag, but I do have the habit of picking up the 23kg one quite often and carrying her around, because he loves being at everyone's face height!

Nah, I have a Welsh Collie, Border Collie and Labrador, who are affectionately known as Nutter, Psycho and Special Needs, respectively.
If they're not underfoot, they're bored and off investigating everything which just presents a danger in a workshop and we've had enough medical problems with damaged paws and epileptic fits lately!
