This one is definitely a 'past mistake'... help please

So, it's taken a few days but I now have the roller back, complete with a brand new shaft, fully assembled. The engineering guys did a great job. Now I should preface this next part by saying that on this machine changing the belt has always been a struggle. It was only possible to get the...

    Cleaning up reclaimed Parquet

My brother bought a load of reclaimed parquet that was covered in bitumen on the bottom and sides/ends, and a horrible mix of adhesive and carpet remnants on the tops. We set up a production line in my workshop to clean them up (filthiest job ever). First my brother got the worst lumps off and...

    Printer ink

I've always found http://www.printerbasics.com to be very good on price with quick delivery - just be very careful about whether the items are genuine or 3rd party, as it is not always immediately obvious from the listings. They are a UK site despite the address. Gavin

Dropped it off at a local engineering firm, they said it shouldn't be a problem but they are going to call me after they've got it apart. Hopefully should be sorted soon. Thanks again Gavin

Progress! Thanks for your replies gentlemen, they are appreciated and really helped. I tried tapping the cylinder down on the broken end of the shaft as suggested, and the end cap came off! (up until I read the post I hadn't end realised it could be a hollow cylinder  ) Looking...

This one is definitely a 'past mistake'... help please

Hi everyone I am hoping you can help me out because I have no idea what to do next with this problem. I have a floor standing 6x48 inch belt and 12 inch disc sander that I believe is made by Kufo. I bought it second hand. Everything was fine until my clumsy brother somehow (I still don't know...

    Grinling Gibbons

Truly incredible stuff... what surprised me was how rough he left the bits that were only just sort of out of sight - I didn't expect him to finish it all to perfection but there were some rough parts where you could see them if you looked at certain angles... what didn't surprise me was how the...

rot proof wood for fencing - tanalised/ pressure treated etc

Don't know about that coating but +1 for the Deck-Tite screws themselves, they are not cheap but they are brilliant - bought some to build a fence out of tanalised timber, now I use them for all sorts. Gavin

    Hello from Staffordshire

Welcome! :D I like doing simple intarsia pieces on the scrollsaw, they can be very satisfying. If you happen to be near Tunstall any time, pop into http://www.hymortimber.co.uk/ - have a word with the guys and they will let you rummage through their offcuts store, where they have a range of...
