What should I do with my new TS 200??

I have just taken delivery of my TS 200 and wanted some advice on what I should do regarding setting it up. I have seen some threads before about dust extraction problems and also peoples own efforts at mounting it on a bench. I have yet to assemble it so I could save a lot of time by...

    TS200 Blade

Steve, did it take much adjustment to the riving knife? I am not much good with fiddling about but it would probably annoy me if I can't get the stated depth of cut.

    TS200 Blade

Thanks for that link. Looks like I shall give them a go. Similar prices to the CMT blade and on sale at the moment too.

    TS200 Blade

I am about to click the button on Axminsters web site to buy the TS200. Before I do I want to know a couple of things. Is the blade that comes with it worth keeping, How many teeth does it have and which blade should I replace it with from the Axminster web site? They don't seem to have a lot of...

    Can I safely burn MDF???

The trouble is I have quite a bit of it and unless someone is happy to take the lot I will have to arrange to be at home quite a few different times. To be honest, I am happier recycling it by burning it :)

    Can I safely burn MDF???

I have a pile of mdf mouldings, mainly skirting in long lengths, which I will never use and wish to get rid of to make space but I am unsure as to whether or not I can burn them in either an open fire or a log burner. Anyone know ???

    Drum Sanding Kit Replacements

I know it's cheap but it looks like it will do what I want it to do until I can afford the proper machine but it would be much better if I can find a range of grits.

    New Scroller Struggling

I have had some success with the spiral blades when I managed to get them to stay in. I can see why some people don't like them as you have to make sure they don't wander off and they do seem to give a less smooth cut but I do like the fact you can push and pull the work piece. I have a...

Tips needed for fitting flooring in house.

D'oh!!! I have a memory like a sieve. I remember now that engineered is basically a board that can be sanded down a couple of times as it has a thick-ish layer of real wood on top of a soft wood base. Better than laminate but not as good as real wood. The big thing is that you can really feel...

Tips needed for fitting flooring in house.

Do you mean laminate when you say "engineered"? If so I wouldn't bother with it when solid wood flooring doesn't have to cost a fortune. B & Q has a good range and they invariably have sales where it is a third off. I know you can get some laminates for tuppence ha'penny but this really is one...

    New Scroller Struggling

I have tightened the clamps to the max and I don't want to round off the head so I don't want to force it. I have made sure that the blades teeth are pointing down. The tension is determined by the quick release knob on the top at the back and I have turned it once before clamping it down but...

    New Scroller Struggling

I have just bought a Jet JSS-16 variable speed and am really struggling to cut shapes in 1/2" thick oak. I bought some spiral blades as I thought they would be easier to cut with but I can't fit them. Every time I put one on it would come out of the clamp as soon as I engaged the quick release...

    Miller dowels?

I use them and like them. What I like is the colour contrast if you use walnut one in pine or beech etc. It makes a feature of the piece IMHO. I have only used them in basic pieces like window boxes and mirror frames but I have seen them used in more elegant pieces and they still look good. Easy...

    A bench too far ???

I agree the main issue is or should be about the bench but it has veered off from that and become more than a bit personal. Like it or not using the spellchecker for some people is not important and I find it hard to believe that some people can get wound up about this so I think the main thing...

    A bench too far ???

Kind of hard considering every single one of your posts is riddled with spelling errors, even though there is a spellcheck button below the text box you type in... Where else do you spend so little effort? I can't believe the flak (and how personal it is) this guy is getting for answering a...

    Screwfix Trade Counters.

I find it odd that screwfix has such bad reviews. There was a post before about them having been bought by the Kingfisher group. I don't know how long ago but I would have thought customer satisfaction was one of the top priorities for a company like them. Having said that, I do think the level...

    Router table choices

Thanks Dave, That looks well thought out and in such a step by step instruction like that is good for someone like me who doubts his capabilities  I shouldn't as I have made quite a few things but always from my head so when I think of more complex stuff it scares me a bit.

    Router table choices

I still can't see why the Record power model is so much more expensive than the Axi one! They look identical apart from the colour. Rutland also have the Dakota Deluxe for £99.95 from £179.95 which just muddies the waters further  If I got that then I think that would be a permanent choice...

    Router table choices

I thought there would be a few who suggest to build my own and I am happy to do so but I would still like to know what peoples views are on the most useful features on a router table, Sliding carriage, Tilting table + any others you can think of.
