Watch out, mr. Beuker is a fraud.

Well I read a Reddit thread the same week that he posted with a Dutch person claiming to have bought the Record no 3. I saved his username and compared his manner of speaking with the Reddit profile and it matches quite well, so I think he did genuinely purchase it. Still, what a tit for the...

    bandsaw dangers.

For a bandsaw newbie like myself, videos like this are excellent. I definitely agree that we should have a thread on safety filled with videos like this!

Aldi bandsaw....does anybody have one and can comment?

Hahah well played! Well I've just had a quick play and I have to say, what amazing fun! One thing I must ask- how does one support the work as it goes through- taking a veneer for example, there's not enough room for a push stick so do you have to push it through by hand exercising caution...

Aldi bandsaw....does anybody have one and can comment?

I've not managed to strip a thread yet, so I am doing okay! I watched the Alex Snodgrass video and have adjusted best I can. The only thing is having not used a bandsaw before, I do not know the noise it should be making. Common sense says that there should be no grinding sounds, of which there...

Aldi bandsaw....does anybody have one and can comment?

Got mine today. Lovely sturdy machine, easy to assemble despite the dark instructions. My only issue thus far is the table- it's bowed by a good few mm. Is this just a symptom of a cheap saw and you just make do or it is this something that will stop me being able to do anything of any worth on...

Auger bit - is it any good?

Evenin' all. Have been looking for a decent size bit for the brace I'm borrowing to bore some holes for legs on a stool I am making. I found this at a car boot last week for the grand total of 50p as it was the perfect size. However, having got it home and done a little reading, I don't think...

    Auger bits for brace

Afternoon peeps, Really need some bits for a brace and having never sharpened a drill bit in my life (will learn but not just yet!). I always see them at the car boot but never know what they're going to be like having not used them before. Is there a reputable source of old-style bits that...

I have a mouse in the workshop

I always prefer a humane solution where possible. Humane mouse traps are easy, reusable, non-messy and best all round :)
