I don't think they are chipped but they are a bit rusty. I need to clean them first (maybe with citric acid?). I'm from Beeston, Notts, but work at EMA industrial estate so not that far from Loughborough at all. Is honing guide required or can you do it as good without it?

I'm not arguing guys. I'd like to use them too, but situation is as it is. Don't think we can help it, can't we. IMHO it would speed up process by using only one tool but different type of blades that we suppose to change anyway to achieve the result.

I don't think Dado is allowed from Health and safaty point here in UK. I spoke with guy in Axminster and he said that neither on of their saw will ever support that. It's American thing. You can always use a router to do that anyway.
