    Laying Laminate Floor, moisture content?

Conservatory. Removed old cracked ceramic tiles and adhesive, down to slab. Self leveling compound poured 10 days ago and dehumidifier has been running for 5 days, moisture now still varies between 4.5 and 7% in different areas. Laminate instructions specify slab moisture content of <1.8%...

    Worcester Bosch CH Problem

We spend half or more of the year away from home so, when leaving in winter, leave CH programmed to fire up for 1/2 hour, 3 times per day as we have a radiator in conservatory which could freeze before boiler (in airing cupboard) frost stat kicks in. 15 year old oversized (inherited with house)...

    Bench Dogs Very Tight

Benchdogs fence and guide rail dogs arrived this morning, just assembled and find they're virtually a hammer fit, whereas Parf dogs are just a good hand interference fit. Is this usual, anyone else had problems? All holes drilled with Parf Guide so should be correct sizes.

    Planing bowed boards on PT

On a recent thread, it was said that when planing a bowed board on a planer, it should be done convex side down. I have always done it concave side down. If the job allows, will cut in half (2 shorter lengths) before planing. If twisted as well, I use the thicknesser with the board wedged...

    Woodworm

Have just bought a few lengths of spalted beech, rough sawn manky and left outside. A couple of pieces look like they have woodworm but no sign of dust around holes. Obviously going to treat all of them but wondering whether, due to roughness and manky condition, to take a light pass through...
