    Condensation within window panes,

As a side note. If you are using silica gel, it will get saturated with water over time and stop absorbing water. You can reactivate by heating it in a low oven for a couple of hours. The stuff I used to use a long time ago was blue in colour when dry and pink when saturated with water...

    Fluorescent lights ??

Bear with me will you please, It's been a loooong time.... :( I seem to remember being taught that the way the lamp works is that when the starter activates, the choke generates a high striking voltage due to the collapsing magnetic fields, which activates the tube. Once the tube has been...

    Fluorescent lights ??

I need to get some fluorescent lamps for the garage. As I use the garage as my workshop, I want it to be as bright as possible. Looking at the ScrewFix site, I see that the low power factor lamps only use 38W tubes, and the high power factor lamps use 58W tubes. The difference in price is...

How hot was your workshop today ?

I think that's probaly the way to go, currently, the roof is almost white, it was a very light grey to start, but it's now faded almost white. I think I will have to bite the bullet and do some serious insulation this year, as it's freezing in winter and boiling in summer. Oh well, more money...

How hot was your workshop today ?

My problem is that next door is very close (2M) to my workshop/garage, and when I'm thicknessing or using the table saw I close all the doors and windows to keep the noise down. I'd rather keep the peace and suffer a little than get into a war. Esp as he is on the parish council and is red hot...

    Whats living under your workshop?

I know that badgers are protected, BUT, if by chance you had a dustbin full of water that you were to accidently spill into the set on a regular basis, I would think that the conditions would be too damp for them, and they will move on. The above scenario is only hypothetical, But.....
