    Oak garden bench finish

I am finishing up on making a traditional oak garden bench for my folks (too many mortice and tenons but will post some pics when finished!). I have a question about the best finish for this. I don't mind the colour fading. I don't want a really plastic looking varnish. I would appreciate...

    Question on finishing tea coasters

What would anyone recommend for finishing some wooden tea coasters. I have some old oak fence posts that have great end grain when sliced and make for nice tea coasters. Just not sure what would be the best finish to cope with hot cups and water spills?

    Cherry bowl

I turned this last week from some cherry I got from a tree surgeon. It was turned green, soaking wet, so stuck it in the microwave a couple of times. Waited a week during which time it has warped a bit, then sanded and finished today. It is 180mm by 80mm. Any comments/criticisms would be welcome

Some first projects and interesting 'dovetails'

Just a couple of projects I have worked on recently. I am new to woodworking. I have a 6x12 shed. Way too small and incredibly frustrating. I bought a decent bandsaw and have a router and router table but hey we all have to start off somewhere. Used to live in Ohio so built my son an Ohio barn...
