    Bedan tool - any comments?

It is a production tool, it is not easy to master, I've been playing with mine for a while since I saw Jean-Francois Escoulen use it in a demo here, mind bending fast work, but it will jump out and bite you, if you don't use it right. >> Stu's Bedan Practice #1 << >> Stu's Bedan Practice #2...

If you remember, I roughed out a bunch of NE bowls and such from some wood I got from the local Shinto Shrine, well, I took a stab at finishing some today, to take to Canada with me.......... Not the best pics, sorry, but I'm pressed for time. Turned out OK, I guess, just a basic wax...

    Some Bottle Stoppers

I got these kits from Craft Supplies USA, they looked neat, with the corkscrew inside the bottle stopper.......... .....but, I really, REALLY did not like the way they show these done, with the large cone shaped stopper and then the reduction in size down to the screw in part which holds the...

How do you sharpen turning tools?

I use a slow speed 8" grinder, and a set up I built myself, it works well, and did not cost me a lot of money. Cheers!

Stu's Ci1 Easy Rougher Review Videos

Well that and the high speed, but there are also a LOT of long curlies, I have some that are very thin, and about 3 feet long, I'm sure the dust created, I'm sure is from the endgrain part of the bowl. I've done a total of 7 blanks now, and I turned the carbide insert to use the second side...

    Ci1 Roughing Gauge, anyone?

OK, I had a great conversation via a Skype call to Craig today, we discussed a bunch of things, and he gave me somethings to think about, regarding how this tool cuts. On Craig's suggestions, I have modified the handle of my Ci1 Easy Rougher.......... I have to say, Craig, was right, this...

    Bandsaw blade cleaning?

When you are cutting a lot of wet timber, like bowl blanks, it really helps your blades to spray them with PAM the non-stick cooking spray stuff (Dunno if they sell it over there?) This stuff........ Spray it on the blade, while running, both sides, it makes the blade cut easier, and when...
