5 things you didn't know you could do with your tablesaw

I just got a new ipod and have subscribed to some of the video podcasts to watch on the train. The Wood Whisperer one is excellent and he takes you though building some very interesting furniture items - I just watched one about building a sidetable out of ABW and maple, which was organic in...

    Workshop Plans

Thanks guys for the advice - I have ordered a number of books from Amazon on the subject and I can think about what I want from there. Fom the threads I have looked at, it is a matter of making the marge flat base and then constructing the sides in panels, erecting them and then covering the...

    Workshop Plans

I have seen on the forum a number of very impressive workshop builds over the last year or so. As a result I am tempted to move out of my large garage and do something similar at the bottom of the garden. So how do I approach designing the building? Is there a book I should be reading, or are...

Router table - WIP - STOLEN IDEA !

The length of the fence should not be a problem as long as you can lock it rigid. This is because you need to build an auxiliary fence anyway for the router part so as long as you can secure it solidly to the existing fence you should be good to go.

Router table - WIP - STOLEN IDEA !

Works very well for me, and the height is perfect. Effectively you are using the other side of the fence as the fence for the router. As you will see from the above link, I added a removable secondary fence to give me the extra height needed for vertical routing plus to enable only part of the...

    MDO Ply? Worth it?

Use 18mm MDF. So the cabinets look like they are made from MDF - so what? You have to use slightly different construction techniques but I jave made a couple of rolling staorage units from it and they are performing just fine It is a bit cheaper than ply too

    Rutland Cramps on offer again.

I just received 4 900mm ones that I ordered weeks ago when I heard there were problems with the quality. Two of the little plastic feet were cracked, but who cares Although I had to wait I got them at the original price and there is nothing wrong with them. For less than £10 each I cannot...

    Triton MOF001 or TRA001 - Decisions, decisions

Buy the bigger one for table use. The extra power will give stability to smaller bits as well as helping out with the larger bits like panel raisers Very good products and the ability to change bits through the table with the automated spindle lock is very useful

    Buying direct from the US

I bought myself an Osborne EB3 and had it delivered to a colleague in NY, and am going there on a business trip next week and will pick it up. Cheap way of buying in US if someone else pays for the air ticket!

Whats the best way to inset router plate with rounded corner

You should use a router bit with the same or smaller radius and make yourself a template from MDF that you can use with a guidebush. Spend a decent amount of time getting the template right and practice on scrap before letting rip on your router table. Also think about cutting out the hole for...
