Anything woody to see/buy in Hereford?

Woody stuff a bit limited without some traveling, however Abby Dore just down road keep her in doors happy, Wye Valley Beekeepers for some thing different and if you've got the time there's an excellent but unassuming woodworker in Abergavenny that a public right of way runs through his...

    Pay As You Go Phone?

They use Vodaphone, pm away. You do need to use once every 60 days to keep it live but as it's a one time only payment and all the others need to be topped up it's a no brainer

Wind smashes massive tree onto my neighbours flatbed

Lucky escape but his truck might have hidden damage to the chassis and it's surprising how little damage warrants a write off for many insurance co's. Not meaning to be a Job's comfort but should get it and the remaining trees checked!

    Double glazing trim

Stelmax is "plastic" in a tube and great when you need a thin, non rub off seal but can crack over time. It's not like any other sealant to use and not for the faint hearted, you can end up with an horrible mess on everything as it will flow out under hydraulic pressure for some time if you cut...

    Double glazing trim

"The SLP boasts that it sticks to damp surfaces, so I may be able to crack on with the job tomorrow." There's damp and then there's Somerset damp, wipe plastic down first to remove grime, dust and moisture. Oh, try not to get in too much mesh and have a dog or cat handy just in case you need to...

    Double glazing trim

Sorry Phil, "Sticks like pineapple" or a low modular mastic. Bead size to suit, tapes can be a little tricky if you've not used before as can super glue even if you have?

    Double glazing trim

Cement and foam suck water in. Bed beads on a decent sealant, SLP should do, then seal all exposed edges. Mastic will part from the brick/render over time, knife off and re-seal.

    Trees, council and legal stuff

Do you have any at ground level? Roots spread out so not a real indicator. As I understand you need a license/permission to fell trees over a certain girth except garden trees and those which pose a danger, however a quick call to the conservation officer or even your Councillor may get a...

    Trees, council and legal stuff

A few pics might help determine whose land they're on and who's responsible for their maintenance and any insurance claims ! Be careful you don't land yourself with some large bills! Seek proper legal help, Speak to the councils conservation officer and maybe your insurance provider to see what...
