    purchase a inverter which will transform 12 volts to 240 ac you can buy them in various sizes depending on the wattage you require.hope this helps. david.

    thanks for the swift reply pete, yes i never thought about using it on a bowl first to see what is happening, it seems a very good tool in the right hands for removing material fast, so shall give it a go this afternoon. thanks again for the advice regards david.

    little goblet

    hi blister yes i had a design in mind for a small goblet and didn't want to do any fine detail(being my first attempt at a goblet, finish was sanding sealer followed by two coats of woodwax 22. regards david.

    thanks to all who have tried to help me obtain a new belt for the lathe had a new belt delivered today straight from clarke and its the wrong size so the search continues emailed a couple more companies but no replies as yet(ah well) looks like no turning for the time being. regards david.
