Bosch mitre saw

Advice please i have attached a photo and marked a blue line around the part i am asking advice about .
Any way the bearing that allows the safety guard to open and shut as broken so not allowing the arm to roll and open the safety guard but the problem being is the threads have gone where the bearing screws in to the saw .Any advice please

Can you retap it to a larger size or fit a Rivnut?

Helicoil would work.

is it cast?
would a rivnut be a bit aggressive?
I think a larger tap may be safer
