Been looking for some time now for a small lathe for my clock making project and have finally decided on the Proxxon Micromot DB 250 MICRO Woodturning Lathe with head and tail chucks. Got the lot for £200 so well pleased, I think.

Anybody got one, used one? Your thoughts would be appreciated. In the description it says" Including 6 tensioning pliers (2 - 3 - 4 - 6 - 8 and 10 mm)"
What are these please? I can understand some turning tools but tensioning pliers???

I think the 'tensioning pliers' they refer to are collets for holding small stuff.

Spannzange in German, apparently

My new toy arrived yesterday and what a great little lathe it is! Set it up with a dust extractor and took just five minutes to knock three trial spindles for my clock!
Oh and this is a Kingfisher I saw on my walk this morning........happy days :ho2
