Do you use what you make?

Having watched a few hours worth on turning, it got me thinking if people actually used the items they make, mainly stuff like bowls and goblets, i know they won't last a lifetime but isn't that the purpose of turning a bowl for example, to use it until it no longer functions then turn another...

Faithfull No 4 smoothing plane review

This one unfortunately does have issues, the sole is pretty flat both along the length and across the width, but the sides are not square to the sole and are about 2mm out, so no good on a shooting board unless you need a 2mm angle, then the frog adjuster does not fit into the slot on the frog...

    Faithfull no3 finishing plane review

This one i think must be from an earlier batch, there is no storage box or case for this one, the casting is reasonable but the sole is pretty much flat across the width but there is a slight hollow on the length, it did take shavings with no fettling but not very well, but a quick hone did...

    Faithfull no5 jack plane review

First impressions, well packaged, the handles are wood and although finished? are dull in appearance compared to the stock photos, After cleaning the plane to remove the oil coating ( just wiped with a rag at this stage), it is a clean casting and nicely finished ( didn't pay too much attention...

so as not to hijack other threads, i have bagged one off ebay, brand new never used, got it very very cheap, but as i understand it should come with a 4mm cutter, but i can't see one in the photos of it, i'm not too concerned at this and i know that original cutters are like hens teeth made from...

LED Light panel ( diy built)

Not exactly woodwork related ( apart from the frame to go around it 8) ), and me being reluctant to spend £20 + for a light for the shed, i made my own led light panel out of some scraps of polycarbonate sheet and some led strip i got from china, total cost including some silicone less than a...
