    Sewing Kit

That sewing kit is fantastic. Looks great, and useful too, a real pleasure to give as a gift I'd imagine. Thanks for sharing!

Advice on the Record Power DML or CL range

I had a DML 24, very similar in all but capacity to the 36. I found it solid and reasonably well put together for the year I owned it. I upgraded for capacity reasons (swing over the bed) and for something with a variable speed. There are 3 pulleys on the DMLs and it's a bit of a pain to change...

    Seminar exhibits

Outstanding. I love the colours in the second one down. Fantastic mix of materials with the copper, and the no dice hollow form is fascinating. Thanks for sharing!

    Beautiful pen, love the resin.

    Reverse chucking more accurately.

I also do what KimG explains. I've a bit of grip-pad on my disc, but I dont think it makes a huge difference what you use to protect it. Mine is mdf though, and it's liable to warp I would say. I should get around to making one from ply. Given that faceplates are (relatively) inexpensive...

    Collet tool handles

I have one of the longer SH handles too, and have 2 double-ended gouges which I bought it for. Seems like a great solution. I can see myself wearing each end out first though.... :P

    Mounting and framing platter-type work

What you've done there is made a very good suggestion! A couple of pegs glued into the hardboard should be the right job. And so much easier to get in a line aswell! Flexibility to colour the pegs contrasting to the background etc. Many thinkings! Thanks Bodrighy!

    Mounting and framing platter-type work

Thanks Pete, I was thinking the hot glue would allow me to change my mind at a later time and maybe separate the pieces. Coloured backing of hardboard might be a better idea than the paper, thanks! Is it too much to want it to be "permanent" AND reversible?

    Mounting and framing platter-type work

Hi all, Late last year I made 4 shallow platters, around 6 inches in diameter, with asterisms/constellations marked on them. I've been toying with the idea of framing them together, 2x2 in a large, deep square frame. My thoughts are as follows: Select a suitable background paper of solid or...

    Beginers lathe Ideas please?

Here's some ideas....assuming it's your first time turning. Spindle turning a potato masher (looks like a German WWII hand grenade) Spindle turning a foot massager - lots of beads and coves for practice Apples and pears are a nice project too. Don't bother with bananas though, they'll drive...
