i am going to yandels in Somerset on Friday then a few days in the Torquay area thought i would go look at some timber-yard / sawmills in that area anyone know of good ones to visit as i hope to buy some wood while i am in that area ...........thanks

Yandles sell a huge variety of wood as well as tools, craft shop for the wives and a good craft gallery if you've got loads of money. Also make a nice cup of tea.

thanks Keith have been there before that's why i wanted to find somewhere with "more reasonably" priced wood looking for yew boards olive ash boards and oak and chestnut boards

Hi Hammer, had a delivery friday from Devon Hardwoods, a load on the lorry had yandles ticket on it , driver said they supply yandles , maybe cheaper to go straight to Devon Hardwoods, they are a big operation.
