Pedder is right - it's easier and cheaper to alter the price when out of stock, than to de-list and re-list. So I've been told.

Unfortunately you can't pause an eBay listing, we had a whole bunch of block planes en-route but our shelf stock ran out a couple of days before they arrived.

There were a bunch of potential customers watching the listing, so rather than cancel it completely and inconvenience them we just moved the decimal point for a few days and then put it back again when the stock came in.

All back to normal now.
