Hi,

This probably has been discussed many times before.
Im going to insulate my wood shed which is 16 x 10 shiplap with pitched roof.

The battens are only 2 inches. Im thinking of using 25mm kingspan slab with 25mm air pocket between shiplap and insulation. Then sheet over with ply. There is already a breadable membrane at back of shiplap wall. The floor joists are built on top of 4 inch blocks. The floor is just timber side by side. (not t&g) The roof in just felt on top of ply.

So here are my questions:
1) is above insulation ok?
2) Do I need a vapour barrier between kingspan insulation and ply?
3) Do I need vapour barrier on floor of shed as it is and to insulate the floor do I need to put down battens and place kingspan between them? And then cover over with t&g flooring
4) Can insulation be placed against the ply in the roof or is air gap needed here as well?

Really sorry for all the questions but im a complete novice when it comes to any of this.

Thanks,
Adrian

Well, you've reached the magic '20' in 1hr and 7 minutes. Wonder if that's a record. Guess it's over to the 'For Sale' section now.

EDIT... As if by magic... https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums/for-sale-norton-waterstones-t87190.html

Never saw that coming #-o

I was quite impressed, I'm hoping he might have a nice brass neck for sale at a decent price.

Apologies to the OP for allowing your thread to veer off-topic. The vapour barrier should go on the warm side of your insulation.
Vapor barriers must be installed on the warm side
of the insulation. This is because condensation occurs
as water vapor moves from the warm side of the wall to
the cold side. If a vapor barrier is installed on the cold
side, it traps moisture inside the envelope, making
moisture problems worse

Because, dear gentlemen....I've banned the useless gerkin already! I also spotted his pathetic attempts to post gibberish as he stampeded towards the for sale board and accidentally deactivated his account. Shame that. So the reason you're not authorised is because all his posts have been magic'd away to the landfill of the terminally short of scruples :)
